As such, when many of us were teaching courses at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, finding an appropriate, contemporary, and affordable textbook that covered the “full spec- trum” of knowledge about photovoltaic solar energy was difficult. Also, a book covering the full spectrum of photovoltaic solar energy was lacking for training young engineers in the industry.

This book aims to inform undergraduate and/or post-graduate students, young or experi- enced professionals, about the basic knowledge of each aspect of photovoltaic technologies and the applications thereof in the context of the most recent advances in science and engineering and to provide insight into possible future developments in the field of photovoltaics.
